The City of Gholson is accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in being appointed to serve as City Council Seat 3 to fill a vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term.

The appointment term will run from the date of appointment through May 1, 2027, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Interested individuals must contact the City Secretary for an application, or click here to download one, and must meet eligibility requirements for the office of City Council Seat 3, including residency and voter qualification requirements.  

The deadline for applications is currently July 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.  This deadline may extend if a quorum for the Regular meeting is not achieved.
