The City of Gholson is seeking dedicated community members to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission. This volunteer commission plays an important role in shaping the future growth and development of our community.
What Does the Planning & Zoning Commission Do?
The commission provides recommendations to the City Council on matters such as:

Reviewing subdivision and zoning requests once zoning is established

Helping plan for responsible growth and land use

Considering updates to zoning ordinances and regulations

Supporting efforts to preserve the character and values of our community
Serving on the Planning & Zoning Commission is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, shape how Gholson inevitably grows while preserving its character, and represent the interests of Gholson's residents.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:

Reside within 1 mile of the Gholson city limits

Be willing to attend commission meetings, currently scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 P.M. at city hall, and participate in discussions
No prior experience is required — just an interest in serving your community and a willingness to contribute.
