The City of Gholson is accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in being appointed to serve on the City Council, Place (Seat) 4, to fill a vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term.

The appointment term will run from the date of appointment through the end of the current term, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Interested individuals must contact the City Secretary for an application, or click here to download one, and must meet all eligibility requirements for the office of City Council Member, including residency and voter qualification requirements.

The deadline for applications is May 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

The City Council is expected to consider applications and make an appointment at the regular City Council meeting on May 21, 2026, with the workshop beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m.
