2026-2027 Proposed Budget and Proposed Tax Rate
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED BUDGET FOR CITY OF GHOLSON
Pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 102, notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Gholson will conduct a public hearing at Gholson City Hall located 749 Knust Circle, Gholson, Texas 76705 on the 25th day of August, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. on the proposed Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2026 and ending September 30, 2027.
This meeting will be open to the public. Any person shall have the right to be present and to speak for or against the proposed budget. Following the public hearing, the Gholson City Council may vote on the adoption of a Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027. The City Council, on a separate vote, may adopt a Proposed Tax Rate to be adopted at the Tax Rate Hearing at a later date.
This Budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget $678.00 (0.76%) and of that amount $1,416.00 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the Tax Roll this year.

Public Hearing on Budget meetings are available to all persons regardless of disability. Individuals with disabilities who require special assistance should contact the City Secretary, at 254-829-0100 during normal business hours at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting.
Normal Business Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Closed 12 noon – 1 p.m. for lunch and closed on Fridays.
